Colonoscopy
Colonoscopy is the examination of the colon using a colonoscope. Colonoscopies are performed to prevent colon cancer, but are also indicated in cases of blood in the feces, suspected chronic inflammatory diseases, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal complaints or as aftercare after cancer.
If changes or abnormalities in the bowel become visible during a colonoscopy, numerous examination and treatment options are possible to manage these issues.
